Cary L. Bovey - Partner
Cary has exclusively served Texas cities for 35 years. He started his legal career as an Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Municipal League and has spent the past 29 years in private practice serving as City Attorney for cities across Texas. Over his career Cary has accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in the field of municipal law and the legal issues that impact cities. He has received the Merit Certification in Municipal Law from the Texas City Attorneys Association, an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League.
Cary currently serves as the City Attorney for several home rule and general law cities across Texas. He provides counsel to cities on a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to: economic development, annexation, zoning and land use, employment matters, ordinance drafting and review, construction projects, contract drafting and review, municipal court prosecution, the Public Information Act and Open Meetings Act.
Cary received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University. Cary has served on the Charter Review Commission for the City of Round Rock. Cary and his wife Becky are active members of their church, serving in multiple ministries throughout the years. Cary and Becky have two married sons and two grandsons (soon to have a granddaughter too!), all of whom reside in the Central Texas area. When not practicing law, Cary enjoys Aggie sports, hunting, fishing, traveling and listening to live music with his wife and friends.
