Joseph Halbert - Associate

Joseph enjoys walking alongside clients and considering strategies as they decide on the most prudent course of action to best meet their needs and interests. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. He also earned a B. A. in Political Science (minor in Public Service) and a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation from Abilene Christian University.
Joseph has a wide breadth of knowledge and experience. He served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Texas; worked as the General Counsel for a Texas State Senator; and Committee Counsel for the Texas House of Representatives. In these positions Joey gained valuable experience in local government-related legislative matters such as transportation, criminal justice, eminent domain and TMRS, as well as handling Texas Public Information Act requests. Joseph is also a licensed and trained mediator (teaching graduate level college courses in mediation and conflict resolution).
A longtime resident of Central Texas, Joseph has deep roots in his community. He has served as a volunteer at the Austin Dispute Resolution Center, Volunteer Legal Services, and the PTA Board of a local elementary school. He is a member of the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library, a contributor to the local PBS station, and a volunteer in various teaching ministries at Round Rock Church of Christ.
In his free time, Joseph enjoys eating Tex-Mex food with his wife and their two boys. He is an avid reader, writer, hiker, movie lover, and blues guitarist. He is an enthusiastic yet undistinguished chess player.
